Vienna is elegant by day, but the city becomes more relaxed, social, and atmospheric after dark. On this Vienna nightlife tour, you’ll experience the city through Austrian food, local wine, coffee-house culture, cocktails, and the lively neighborhoods where Viennese locals actually spend their evenings.
This small-group tour is operated by our trusted local partner, Wolfy’s Adventures, and is designed for travelers who want a polished but relaxed introduction to Vienna’s food and drink scene. You’ll enjoy a classic Austrian dinner, a sweet coffee-house stop, local wine or spritzers, and a cocktail bar experience, all guided by a local expert who knows where to go after the museums close.
Your Vienna nightlife tour begins in the early evening at a central meeting point in the historic city center. After meeting your local guide and small group, you’ll set off to explore Vienna as the city shifts from sightseeing mode into its more local evening rhythm.
The first part of the tour introduces you to Austrian food culture with a classic dinner stop. Depending on the evening and venue, this may include dishes such as Wiener schnitzel, Tafelspitz, goulash, or a vegetarian option, paired with Austrian wine, beer, or a soft drink. Your guide will explain how these dishes fit into Viennese dining culture and where locals go for a proper meal.
After dinner, you’ll continue with one of Vienna’s great traditions: the coffee house. Over coffee, tea, hot chocolate, and a Viennese pastry or homemade cake, you’ll learn why cafés have played such an important role in the city’s social, literary, and cultural life.
From there, the evening moves into livelier local neighborhoods such as Neubau, known for its creative energy, bars, restaurants, and relaxed after-work atmosphere. You may sip a wine spritzer or another local drink while your guide explains Vienna’s growing wine scene and the city’s surprisingly strong connection to urban vineyards.
Next, you’ll step into Vienna’s modern cocktail culture. At a selected cocktail bar, you’ll enjoy a carefully made drink while seeing a more contemporary side of the city — less imperial postcard, more local evening out.
Depending on the season and route, the night may finish with a rooftop bar or scenic riverside lounge, where you can enjoy a final drink and a different view of Vienna after dark. Throughout the evening, your guide will share practical tips for where to eat, drink, and explore next, so you leave not only well fed, but better oriented for the rest of your stay.
The standard small-group tour starts at 4:00 PM, Monday to Saturday. If you prefer a different start time, we can arrange this as a private tour instead. Please contact us through the enquiry form with your preferred date, time, and group size, and we’ll confirm what is possible.
This tour has a central meeting point at Jasomirgottstrasse 3/5, in front of Wein & Co. If you’d prefer a hotel pick-up, please contact us in the form below to arrange a private experience.
Typical inclusions are a charcuterie tasting with wine, beer, cocktail, or soft drink; Viennese pastry with coffee, tea, or hot chocolate; a classic Austrian dinner with wine or beer; and a rooftop or cocktail bar stop. Exact tastings may vary by season and venue.
Vegetarian options can usually be accommodated, and some other dietary needs may be possible with advance notice. Gluten allergies and strict vegan diets are more difficult because many Austrian dishes involve bread, pastry, dairy, or meat. Contact the team before booking if dietary restrictions are important.
The tour includes alcoholic drinks, but soft drink alternatives are available at several stops. Please mention this when booking so the guide can plan accordingly.
You’ll be guided by a local food-and-drink expert from our trusted partner team, Wolfy’s Adventures. Your guide will introduce Vienna’s evening culture through restaurants, coffee houses, wine, cocktails, neighborhoods, and local habits, with the kind of practical recommendations you would not get from a standard nightlife list. Expect a relaxed, social experience with clear explanations, good pacing, and plenty of room for questions along the way.
This tour is available as a curated small-group experience, but it can also be arranged privately if you prefer a more personal pace, a custom start time, or a route tailored to your group.
To help us plan smoothly, please contact us through the enquiry form and include anything important, such as your preferred date and start time, group size, dietary restrictions, allergies, mobility concerns, whether anyone does not drink alcohol, and any food or drink preferences you would like us to consider.
We reply within 1 business day.
